The Chief Electrical Engineer of the Postal Bureau expects that an important development will result from the wireless discoveries reported yesterday from Adelaide in the direction of perfecting transmitters and receivers, and the extension of the range.
RISE IN PRICE OF LEATHER GOODS.
Owing to tne rise in the price of leather and other raw material the Leather Manufacturers’ Association has raised the price of all leather goods by 15 per cent.
BRAVE RAILWAY FOREMAN REWARDED.
The Railway Commissioners have presented Foreman Henry with £2O and a gold medal for stopping a runaway' train.
INVESTMENT OF ODDFELLOW’S FUNDS.
MELBOURNE, Feb. 15
The order of Oddfellows has asked the Treasurer to provide 4 per cent. Government stocks for the investment of their funds, totalling £150,000.
