[Per Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 15.. Frommont, the train examiner, who was injured at the local railway station some days ago, died from his injuries this morning. He leaves a wife and several young children.

A Maori woman was killed on the Kakatihi-Parapara road on Sunday afternoon by falling over a cliff. She died in a few minutes after the fall. Details are meagre. The acting-coron-er, a police official, and a doctor left to-day to hold an inquiry and in inquest. A CASE *OF~SUICIDE. BLENHEIM, Feb. 15. At the inquest on Arthur Lionel Luke, found dead in a grain store, yesterday afternoon, a verdict that deceased died from a bullet wound self inflicted, was returned. _ Luke n-as about 35 years old, and is supposed to have relatives in Taranaki. A SUDDEN DEATH. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 15. A man named Bennett, about 30 years of age, died suddenly at Spye (Omihi), near Amberley, last _ night. Tie was a stranger in the district, and had been employed for three days as cook by James Dalziell, road contractor.

OLD WOMAN BADLY BURNED

DUNEDIN, Feb. 15

A woman named Lucy Channel*, aged 73 years, residing in a three-roomed cottage in Castle Street, accidentally set. fire to herself this evening by overturning a lighted candle. She was alone "at the time, and was evidently iinable to find the way out. When she was discovered her clothes were practically burned off, and her body was in places very badly charred. She was removed to the hospital in a serious condition.
