A meeting of the Programme Committee of the St. Patrick’s sports, to be held on Thursday, 17th March, at Victoria Domain, was held last night in St. Mary’s Schoolroom, the Rev. Father Lane (president) presiding. The programme, which consists of 17 events, was adopted, and is as follows: Alaiden race, boys’ race iinder 16, girls’ race under 16, St. Patrick’s handicap (three distances, 100, 200, and 300yds). cigarette race, Parker’s handicap (half-mile), three bicycle races (two for the members of the Civil Service Sports’ Association), rip-sawing competition, Mayoral handicap (one mile), high jump, and place-kicking competition. The amount to be awarded in prize money amounts to about £4O. On account of last Saturday being Hospital Saturday, it was deemed inadvisable to include a Hospital Race on the programme this year.
