Mr. A. F. Kennedy left by the Mokoia last evening for Napier. Airs. Taplay, who is still indisposed and at a private hospital, trusts to be able to resume teaching next week.. A Press Association telegram from Feilding announces the death of Mr. A. C. Alorton, a local land agent, who was war correspondent with the New Zealand contingents in the iSouth African war.
A Press Association telegram from Wanganui notifies the death of Air. Harry Bullock, manager for Alessrs. A. Hatrick and Co., aged 36. Deceased was well-known and esteemed in business circles on the West Coast. A cable message from Fremantle states that Sir Robert Stout arrived there in the Aloldavia yesterdav on his way to Now Zealand. A Press Association telegram from Wellington last night states:—The Rev. Dr. Tudor Jones, who established the. Unitarian Free Church in Wellington, is returning to England, and leaves Wellington in a few days. He and Airs. Jones were entertained by the Unitarian congregation to-night. Dr. Jones was presented with a purse of sovereigns. Returning thanks. Dr. Jones asked them t-o accept a contribution of £25 to the building fund, and promised when he went Home togot £4OO or £SOO sent out.
