THE NEW ALPINE MINE
[Special to “Times.”] GREY-MOUTH, Fob. 17
The following is a copy of the mine manager’s report for the week ending loth February, 1910: —“No. 7 crosscut was extended 17ft, making the total south 90ft. The ground continued hard for the greater part of the week, but it is better ground during the past two shifts, .with a. small hand of soft slate in the middle of the drive. The ground is running mostly north and south (the direction of the crosscut), and I think, before we can get any reef, the country will have to come more around to oast- and west (cross the direction of the crosscut), as the ground is underlying to the west.”
