The Hon. Goo. McLean is retiring from the turf for the .time being. His five horses in training will run at the Cup meeting and afterwards at Auckland. His stable at Wingatui has been sold to Mr Hazleh, 'who leases it to MoCombe, the trainer.

The following is the •result of the Futurity Stakes. —Comedy King 1, Maltin© 2, Conge, d’El ire. 3. Thirteen starters. At the start Malt King was left 10 lengths behind. Queen of Scots took charge from Wedding Present. Comedy King, and Maltine. At the fa r turn Mai tine was in the lead, with Mary running, second, and followed by Comedv King, Maltine, and Mary led into the straight, but at the distance Comedy King, Maltine, Conge d’Elire, and Flavinius replaced the leaders, finishing in this order. Comedy King winning by a length. Time, lmiu 27§scc.
