Mr Moore, Mayor of AY in ton, has (says the “Southland Times”) recently recoived from the Old Country a postcard which has a tragic history attached to it. The words “Picked un at Sea,” appear on its face, written then'., on by the postal officials. The explanation is that the postcard in question was on board the ill-fated Isle of Man mail steamer, which went down with all on board in December last, whilst running between tlie Isle of Man and Liverpool. A mail bag was, however, found dentine in the water, and r-.p"'"’t l '’if'-S''" to Air. Moore duly reached its destinaton, although discolored by contact with the- sea. ;
