VISIT TO NELSON

("Per Press Association.! NELSON, Feb. 22

The Governor, who is paying a farewell visit to the district, was entertained at a conversazione in the Provincial Hall this evening, there being a large and representative attendance. Yesterday a whole holiday was observed in honor of the occasion, and Lord Plunket was given a demonstrative welcome to the city, which was gaily decorated. During the ‘last ten days His Excellency has been touring the district, being accorded a hearty welcome throughout the country. He expressed himself greatly charmed with the scenery in the Golden Bay district, and .said he thought that if the attractions of the place were more widely advertised, it would become a favorite resort for tourists. Lord Plunket, who has been accompanied throughout the tour by the Hon. R. McKenzie, leaves for Wellington to-morrow.
