£200,000 FOR A HEALTHY SON.

CURIOUS CONDITION IN A RICH MAN’S AVILL.

A curious condition is contained in a codicil to the will of Alderman Benjamin Minors AVoollan, of Sherwood Par'k, Tunbridge Wells, a former mayor of the town, who left property worth £223,062. By his will he left the residue of 3iis estate, about £200,000 to his wife for life and then tQ his son Ernest absolutely. In a codicil, made a fortnight before his death he stated that his son had married recently. He therefore left him only a life interest in the money unless he should have a male child which should attain the age of three years and then be certified by two physicians of good standing as of reasonably sound mind and body.

In this' case the testator’s son will receive tlie fund absolutely. Otherwise, subject to the life interest of his son and others, the money will eventually go to form a Woollan Trust forj the assistance, of waif children and old people, and for making advances to young people to enable them to start in business.
