H.M.S. INVINCIBLE.
DEFECTS ADMITTED BY THE ADMIRALTY.

Replying to Lord Charles Beresford in the -House of Commons, Mr. R. IvteKenna, First- Lord of the Admiralty, stated that the Invincible fired her 12inch guns on the 14th of March, 1909, and had not since fired them until yesterday. Numerous minor defects were discovered during the 1909 trials in the turret- and electricity plant. Alterations were ordered, but further detects developed. The Invincible could have used four 12-inch guns effectively in .the past year, and the other four at a considerably lower rate.
