DUNEDIN. Feb. 24

The annual conference of the. Methodist Church opened this evening in the presence of a large number of ministers and representatives from all parts of the Dominion, and a crowded congregation. The retiring president, the Rev. T. Fee, "Wellington, presided. The valedictory address of Mr. Fee was de_ livered with much fervor, and was frequently applauded. It- dwelt on the chief events in the history of the Church, and the State during the past year

The Rev. C. H. Laws was elected president by an almost unanimous vote, and the Rev. S. Lawry was re-elected secretary.
