NAPIER, Feb. 26. Joseph Thomas Christie, a youth who absconded from Burnham, and was this week convicted of; theft and forgery, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment. Air. Justice Cooper remarked that it was no use sending prisoner back to Burnham, but he would make representations for a transfer to Invercargill, where special provision was made for dealing with criminal youths of this class. John Henry Farrclly, charged with forgery and uttering, failed to appear when called on at the Supreme Court, and his bail was estreated.
