SOUTH ISLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.

The South Island Rifle Association meeting was continued to-day in fine weather, though the light varied considerably and the wind was somewhat puffy. Results: Canterbury match, 7 shots at 200, 500 and 600 yards.—Lieut. A. iL. Gee (Linw.ood), 33, 34, 33'—100; Private Barkle (City Rifles), 32, 34, 33 —99; Sergeant D. McOalley (Sydney), 32, 33, 33 —98; Lieut. Sandford (City Guards), 33, 33, 32—98. In the tyros section, Rifleman York (Waitahuna Defence Rifle Club) scored 34, 31, 30—95. The Otago match was won by tSer.gt. A. Rivels (Southland Mounted Rifles), with 68; Rifleman W. J. Henry (Christchurch Defence Rifle 'Club), second, 67. The service thatch was won by Private Crimp (Green Island Rifles), 35.
