The High Commissioner’s market report is as follows: Sales of all quantities of mutton are dull ; tho supply is small, but constant, and meets the demand. Holders are firm: Canterbury mutton, which ’is extremely scarce, .averages 4fd, North Island 32d. Lamb is firm, with a better tone in the market this week. The average price of Canterbury lamb (small supply) is sjjd, other New* Zealand lamb sd. There is a better demapd for beef. The stocks of New Zealand beef to hand' are light. The average prices are: Hindquarters 3j|d, forequarters 3-]d. There is a. better demand for butter, aim the market is firm. Light shipments are expected from the Continent, and the market prospects in general are favorable. The average price of choicest New Zealand butter is 120 s; Australian and Argentine. 117 s: Siberian, 110 s : Danish 1275. Buyers of cheese are holding back, expecting prices to no lower. Hie arera"e price of New Zealand finest white cheese is 50s Gd; colored 58s Gd. There arc no complaints of ‘‘off” flavor regarding New Zealand cheese. I. ho hemp market lias decreased. Poor business lias boon done: buvers aie eautions. gw Zealand Tig-hid, jxocklj fail grade, on spot, is at £26' fair grade, £25: Manila output for the week was 32.000 bales.
