ROWING.
POVERTY BAY CLUB
'fhe usual Aveekly meeting of the committee of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club was' held at the club-house last night. Mr. A. Kirk, secretary, presiding A letter was received from the lion, secretary of the New Zealand Amateur RoAving Association, informing the club that the Association had allotted Avhite singlets with black bands from either shoulder as the colors for the club. After discussion, it was resolved to approach the Association with the view of the club being permitted to retain their old colors, white with chocolate band o\'er left and under right shoulder.
The next races will be the singlesculls for Mr. R. T. Seymour’s medal, which will be started on tho Waimata course on Monday. Mr. Rees Jones was appointed bandioapper for this -competition. A challenge, was lodged by G. Sceats, P. Stubbs, L. Pavitt, and J. Martin to row the rep. youths’ crew selected by the match committee. It was decided to hold a special general meeting of the club on Friday. 11th March, to arrange for the formal opening of the now club-house.
