WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
PIONEER AND POWERFUL EXCHANGE MESSAGES. United Press Association— Copyright SYDNEY, March 3. The warship Pioneer picked up and answered a Powerful wireless message from the North Cape on Thursday night. The following night the Pioneer’s apparatus was dismantled in order to instal a more (powerful one. The Cambrian’s gear is also old, otherwise it is claimed the warships would have got the messages Mr. Pike received Within a short time most of the ships of the Australian squadron will be fitted- with improved instruments similar to those of the Powerful. It ; s then expected they will be able to re eoive and transmit regular messages to New Zealand.
