The Hon. T. Mackenzie, Minister for Agriculture, says that the Government is considering the question of sending an exhibit of fruit to the Argentine International Show, to he held from June. 3 to July 31. Nothing definite will be decided until some information can be gained as to the possibility of- gaining a fruit trade with Argentine. Unless the prospects of business seem good nothing will bo done. There is sin opening for fruit at Rio do Janeiro, in Brazil, and a certain quantity comes across from Tasmania, Mr. Mackenzie states, for shipment in the direct liners from New Zealand. So far as sheep exhibits, etc. are concerned, the Government is not taking any action, ms it considers the matter is more fittingly left to private enterprise.
