The Philadelphia strikers number 40,000, including cabdrivers, bricklayers, textilo workers, carpenters, plumbers, and tailors. Further riots have occurred at Philadelphia. -

Many rioters were badly clubbed by the police. Numerous arrests have been made. A 'woman was fatally shot.
