A BRUTAL ASSAULT.
OLD MAN ATTACKED BY BURGLARS.

At Norwood three burglars concealed themselves in a residence and awaited the return of the occupier, William Taunton, aged 76. They killed the house-dog and brutally assaulted Taunton. The house was ransacked. The burglars have been arrested.
