THE AUCKLAND STRIKE.
WORK PROCEEDING SATISFACTORILY. [ IV. u Pm-ss Association.] AUCKLAND, March 11. The “shrike” of slaughtermen and gut- boys, who were employed a-t like Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company’s works at Southdown, still continues, no approaches towards a settlement being .made by either the Company or men. The works, however, are the scene of considerable activity, the same number of slaughtermen as went cm strike being now employed and, though some of them are- not expert, they work fast enough to keep mere than half of the other employees engaged. The number of slaughtermen will gradually be increased.
