TMELLOW ELECTORS,— I beg to announce, that I am a Candidate for the election to the Hospital Board, and to respectfully solicit your vote and interest at the forthcoming election. I have no private ends to serve nor dangerous experiments to exploit. My candidature is announced because I believe that a substantial majority of elec, tors will so thoroughly appreciate their unrestricted right of selecting the most suitable men that they will not allow* party politicians nor any organisation to direct them how to vote, I am convinced firstly that it is a truth beyond reasonable controversy that the recent management of our hospital has been most oreditable to all concerned, and though nothing human can be absolute perfection, the Gisborne hospital -has for many years been con. stantlv on the improve, and the internal management will to-day compare, as we are assured by the highest authority, with that of any similar institution' in the Dominion.

I therefore think it desirable that such ft management should be interfered with as little as possible, and that the more harmoniously the Board, v/hioh you are about to create,, works, the better for all concerned. The question of Hospital Site is one which will require attention, but surely no person is more competent to advise thereon than Dr. Carlyle Wilson, and any recommendation from so capable an officer Avould be to me a weighty argument and receive my gravest attention. I. am. a thorough believer in the principle that when we have a good and competent servant there should be. as little outside interference as possible. From such a Board it is, to my mind, most important that malcontents and agitators should be excluded. If you do mo the honor of election, I will do my utmost to aid, in however humble a degree, to assist in every movement calculated to bring credit on the institution, and strenuously endeau vor to merit vour continued confidence by ever fighting in the" interests of common-souse, impartiality, and fair P * ay ‘ Yours faithfully.
