EXPLORER REPORTED MISSING.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 14. Late' on Saturday night the Hon. T. MacKenzie received a telegram from Greymouth from Mr T. Y. Seddon, M.P., to the effect that considerable anxiety was felt regarding the safety of Dr. Teichelmann and his guide, Alexander Graham, who for some time past have been engaged in exploring the Southern Alps. Fortunately the Minister was able to get into telegraphic touch with Mt. Cook Hermitagc; and gave instructions that/ relief parties should be sent out at the earliest possible moment. THE EXPLORERS b CHRISTCHURCH. March 14. A Christchurch resident received a telegram from a Hokitika resident this evening to the effect that Dr. Teichelmann has reached Hokitika safely. Dr. Teichelmann, with Guide Graham, left Lake Heron on February 28th with the intention of going up the Rakaia Valley, and attempting the. ascent of Mount Arrow,smith, returning to the West Coast by the Big Wanganui. Owing to their non-arrival some concern was felt as to their safety.
