KAITI CLUB
A good deal of enthusiasm is being displayed bv the members of the Kaiti Club over the combined handicap competition to be played to-day for Mr R. Ulick Burke’s trophy. It is intended that the tournament be completed to-day, play commencing at 1 o’clock, and given fine weather the afternoon should prove very enjoyable. The draw for .partners and the handicaps are as follows: —Sheppard and Miss Bright owe 30, Margohouth and Miss S’herratt owe 20, Goyer and Miss N. Davies owe 5, Scliierning and Miss McCredie receive 10, Ruby and Mrs Gover receive 15. D.odgshan and Mrs Crawford receive 15, Burnard and Mrs Barlow receive 20, Cowan and Miss de-Lautour 'receive 20, Simson and Miss F. Davies receive 25, Coote and Miss iL. Coleman receive 25, Tliodey and Miss Murray- receive 35, E. Adair and Miss Crawford receive 35, T. Barlow and Miss H. Agnew-Brown receive 40. THE MANAWATU TOURNAMENT. [Ter Press Association.l PALMERSTON N., March 16. The Manawatu tennis tournament commenced to-day. There was alarfye attendance. Fisher, Prouse and Stow were the throe most prominent players engaged in the semi-final in the Men’s Championship Singles. Prouse beat Fisher 9—4, th.e result -being a surprise. Fisher is still in -the Men’s Handicap Singles. In the Men’s Champion Doubles, first round, Fisher and Prouse beat Johnston and Pharazyn 9 —o. Stow and Collins beat Wither and" Waldegrave 9 —2".
