NGATAPA SETTLEMENT.
. BALLOT FOR SECTIONS. The ballot for sections in the Ngatapa settlement took place in the .Native Land Court yesterday afternoon. Before the ballot commenced Mx T. N. Brodrick, Commissioner of Crown Lands, explained that on some of the sections there were road deviations, and the successful applicant was expected to 'keep the old roau open till the new one was formed. There was also a dairy site on the reserve and if the selectors decided to erect a co-opera-tive creamery the site was at their disposal. Messrs J. B. Bright, manager of the New Loan and Mercantile Co.’s office, and Mr A. F. Kennedy, manager for Messrs Williams and Kettle, were then selected as scrutineers, and the ballot commenced. The number of applicants for some of the sections was originally greater, but a number were rejected. The number left indicates the number who went to the ballot. The ballot resulted as follows : —Block X.—
