AUSTRALIAN STATES WAN DIRECT REPRESENTATION ON IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. United Press Association—Copyright (Received March 17, .9.20 p.m.) LONDc.,, March 17. The Australian Agents-General have unanimously resolved to suggest to their Premiers that the States should advance a. claim for representation on the Imperial Conference with a view to the. recognition of their constitutional rights by the admission of .State Premiers or nominees to the 1911 conference, so that the States may be repre. sentsd in the discussion of such questions as the appointment of State Governors, immigration, and other matters upon which the Commonwealth representatives have no right to speak for the States. The. general opinion is that the present time is favorable for again advancing a claim in view of the harmonious relations between the States and the Commonwealth Government.
