A proposal from Groymoutli was recently made to the Minister of Railways that trains should he run from Greymouth to Christchurch, and vice versa, so that passengers could do the through journey in twenty-four hours. The Minister has replied that it is not proposed to make any alteration in the service until the extension to Cass is taken over by the Railway Department, which will bo in about five or six months.
