MYSTERIOUS FIRE. FPi:n Prkss Association.] AUCKLAND. March 19. A fire at Prospect Terrace, Mount Eden, destroyed a house owned by H. Paltridge, of Napier. Arthur Hodgson had moved in a few hours previous to the outbreak. During his absence the fire occurred. The cause is a mystery. PAHIATUA HIGH SCHOOL DESTROYED. PAHIATUA, March 20. Shortly before nine last night a fire broke out in the new district High School building, which was only completed and opened by the [Minister of Education a few montlis ago. The whole of the main building was completely destroyed, as well as a detached building used as a secondary school. Other detached buildings used as.an infant school, were saved. The origin of the fire is a mystery. The loss is estimated at £I3OO.
