BOWLING.
GISBORNE CLUB. There was a very large muster of members of the Gisborne Bowling Club on their green on Saturday afternoon. Four full-rink games were played, besides others. The following were the players and scores in connection with the principal games:— Wootton, Bullock, Simson, J. J. Martin (skip) 17 beat Macmillan, Hennessy, Sawyer, Ponsford (skiul 14. Parker, Brown. Dodd. Hookey (skip) 26, beat Smith, Harris, Paltridge, Corson (skip) 18. Maher, Wilson, Benzie, Bright- (skip) 29 beat Lewis, O’Meara, Williams, Greig (skip) 16. Murray, Simpson, Ivyme, Ambridge (skip) 25 beat Taylor, illeGlashan, W. Pettie. Mackintosh (skip) 18. TURANGANUI CLUB. Play on the Turanganui Club’s green was confined to practice games on Saturday afternoon, and some good bowling was shown. —Handicap Fours.— Entries for the Handicap Fours for trophies presented by various donors closed on Saturday afternoon with 24 entrants. The- Match Committee have drawn the players and arranged the handicaps as follows: - R. O. Skoet, W. McPherson, W. Ratcliffo, J. P. Williams (skip) (4 points) versus J. R. Leydon, W. H. Douglas, M. A. Neill, E. Lewis (skip) (7 points); H. J. Finn, V. Hooper, B. Hird, A. Sawyer (skip) (4 points) versus D. B. McSkimming, R. Thelwall, P. E. Hallam, J. Greig (skip) (scratch). Dan. Barry, O. F. Lewis, T. McConnell, M. G. Nasmith, junr. (skip) (8 points) versus A. Skillicorn, D. Hepbum, W. Bruce, R. McWhirter (skip) (7 points). It is expected that most of these games will be played by_ Good Friday, so as not to interfere with the interclub junior pennant games on Easter Monday at the Club’s green, or with the tournament for the Burton trophy on Easter Monday on the Gisborne Club’s green. EASTER TOURNAMENT. The entries for the tournament to be held during the Easter holidays for tlie trophy presented by Mr. Burton closed on Saturday afternoon, until Mr. H. Mackintosh,* secretary of the Gisborne Bowling Club, who received' three entries —from the Hastings, Gisborne, and Turanganui Clubs, each of which unll be represented by two rinks.
