TE KARAKA SPORTS
Nominations for the running events at the Te Karaka Sports on Easter Monday close at Morse’s _ “Central saloon to-morrow at noon. Arrangements have been made by the officials to have the principal running events decided early in the day in order to allow competitors to return toKaitaratahi to take part in the Freezing Works sports, to -be held there on the same day. FREEZING WORK’S SPORTS. At a meeting of the Committee in connection with the Freezing Works’ sports and picnic at Kaitaratahi on Easter Monday, it was decided to run the events in the order already advertised. It was also decided to add a Lightermen’s Handicap to the programme the prizes for which will be, Ist £2, 2nd £l, 3rd trophy. . Excellent nominations have been received for most of the events, and given fine weather the gathering promises to lie s- success. INTER-UNIVERSITY SPORTS. United Press Association-Copyright LONDON, March 20. In the inter-University sports, Cambridge won seven events and Oxford three. M. G. Murray, an Adelaide student at Cambridge, won the long jump, registering 21ft 5-Jin.
