Those who anticipate a change of Gov’crnment shortly, involving the Premier leaving his official residence in DoAvning Street, notice that his former residence in Cavendish Square is being cleaned up and prepared for occupation. IMPERIAL FINANCE. The Bank of England, in view of the Government’s decision not to secure legislative sanction to the collection of income tax, informed the London County Council that the bank intends to refund the amount deducted upon the application of owners of stock. The announcement refers to 74£- millions of London stock, Avhereon the income tax totals £120,000. The Council hitherto held this at the Government’s disposal, hut the Treasury never applied for it. The Council agreed to the bank’s decision.
