Undoubtedly the star film shown was one depicting the -dramatisation of Tolstoi’s famous novel, “The Resurrection.” It was from the American Biograph Co.’s studios, and the acting of the principals was a .Devolution of the dramatic power of these talented artists. The storv was easily followed, and at the conclusion there was a hearty outburst of applause. Three very good scenic pictures were included in the programme, “Beauty Spots of the Riviera,” “Egyptian Sights and Customs” and “Naples,” the first being especially fine. “A Romance of Life,” was a good dramatic story, dealing with the love of a girl of high family for the tutor, who lias been engaged to teach her young brothers. Another good dramatic story was “The Brave Irish Lass,” being, the story of an eviction in Ireland, and the action of the girl, which saves the home for an old cmiple.
