The- scow Haere sailed for Whangapmmpara. on Thursday afternoon. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tarawera returns from Auckland to-morrow afternoon, and sails for South during the evening, ’flie Tuatea goes out on arrival and at 5 p.m. The- U.S.S. Co.’s Squall arrived at 4.30 a.m. yesterday from Auckland. She sailed at 3 p.m. on the. 21st, and experienced strong south-easterly winds with heavy sea during the passage across the Bay of Plenty, which necessitated her anchoring off Opotiki for several hours. Hove up anchor at 6 a.m. on the 23rd, and got round as far as Whangaparoa, and as the weather conditions were, still very unfavorable had to anchor there. Made a fresh start at 8 p.m. on the 23rd, but returned again to Whangaparoa, where she lay until 6 a.m. on the 24th. The' we a - ther having taken off considerably enabled her to round East Cape at 3 p.m. on- tlie 24th. Experienced heavy swell round the Cape. Arrived at Tologa Bay at 9.20 p.m., worked cargo, and sailed for Gisborne at 0.30 a.m. on the 25th. The Squall brought the following cargo : 1350 bags salt. 520 pieces timber, 620 hags sugar, 22 cases, spirits, 236 sacks salt, 51 bundles wire, 71 sacks flour, 17 cases ale, 70 bundles and bars iron, 175 eases kerosene, 80 bags manure, 10 casks invert, 246 bags cement, 41 cases acid, 5 cases drugs, 18 cases sauce, 100 bags lime, 10 packages wickerware, 55 sacks e. bottles, 100 drain pipes, 12 bales kapok'. 240 50’s flour, 13 cases t. fish, 15 packages hardware, 40 100’s flour, 110 packages machinery parts, 9 packages rape, 5 crates biscuits, 2 pianos, 1 bugand quantity sundries, 25 cases empt- bottles, also transhipment cargo ox" Cornwall, from Liverpool. The Squall returns for Auckland this evenirig. • . .. ■ ■ ■ The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowai left Napier at 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon, and arrived her© at 11 p.m. The Tuatea was announced to go -out at 9 pm., fcut stayed at the wharf till about 10 p.m., and then went out to the bay, and cruised round for an hour. A large number of passengers was landed, and the Tuatea returned to the wharf at 20 minutes to 1 this morning, and the Monowai sailed about 6 a.m. for Auckland. , The a.s. Kaeo is due to sail for Auckland, via coast ports, to-day. The Tyseo* liner Star of Australia arrives from Wellington on Monday, and puts in four days loading for Home. She takes from this port about 20,0UU carcases of meat. 300 casks of tallow, and 200 bales of wool. (Messrs -\\ Illinois and Kettle, Ltd., agents.) The Kaiapoi Shipping Co.’s Holmdale sailed on ' Thursday afternoon from Grey mouth, with timber, for this port. BY TELEGRAPH. CAPE MARIA, March 24.
