STATE MINE RESUMES WORK. [Per press association.] GREYMOUTH, Jan. 3. Mlio State mine resumes work tomorrow as usual. There is no suggestion of labor trouble. PREPARING FOR CONTINGENCIES. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 3. In connection with the rumored strike of coal miners, it is understood that several bodies, the City Council, Tramway Board, Hospital Board, and the like, have made preparations to provide for a contingency with such as that which would arise in the event of a strike. According to one authority, the trouble in the coal trade, if it arises, will he in connection with the State collieries. There is stock for the _ requirements of the Hurunui-Bluff section, and branches have sufficient coal for five or six months.
