Dom Juan Rios’ guests barricaded the doors and windows, armed themselves with fowling pieces and revolvers and held the brigands at bay for two hours, until the civil guard ' drove the assailants into the mountains. Two robbers were killed an dsix wounded. Several of the guests were slightly wounded.
