Pauling, manager of the Masterton Farmers’ Implement Co., tendered liis resignation under the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act. THE SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 10. A movement is on foot, emanating from the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce to observe the Saturday halfholiday throughout the province, and the matter is being considered by various Borough Councils and other bodies, and i£ generally favored. The Waita ra Borough Council had a conference Avith business people last night, and decided that Saturday Avas the best day for tlie half-holiday, -agreeing to observe it if the idea is unanimously adopted.
