MOTOR LAUNCH RACE

The second of the series of races being held in connection with the competition for the motor launch cup was held yesterday afternoon. ’The starters were as follows: —Midge, 28min 5-lsec; Merry Widow, 17min 6sec; Takeitisi, 12min 24sec; and Aster, scr. The race resulted in a win for the Midge, which accomplished the distance in 1 hour 5 min 45sec. The times of the other competitors were as appended : —Merry Widow (2), 1 hour Imm 2sec; Aster (3), 45min 36sec; Takeitisi (4), 1 hour 3min 30seo. Points gained to date have not been compiled. ' The next race of the series will probably take place on Thursday, January 26th.
