The Union Co/s Monowai arrived m the roadstead about 5 o'clock on Saturday morning. She landed about 130 passengers per the Tuatea, and sailed again for Tokomaru Bay and Auckland at 11 a.m. . The Union Co/s Tarawera returned from Auckland, via Tokomaru Bay, on Sunday afternoon. ’ The Tuatea landed passengers, and proceeded to Napier during the evening. Messrs. Richardson and Co/s Ruru and Kahu returned to Gisborne from Tokomaru Bay early yesterday morning. Each has about 200 bales of wool, which were to be transhipped to the N.Z. Shipping Co/s Otaki at Tokomaru Bay, but bad weather having prevented that vessel from working Tokomaru Bay, they were compelled to bring their cargoes on to G isborne. The wool will be . discharged and stored, and both the Ruru and Kahu. will' load sheep and proceed to Napier this evening. The schooner Awanui sailed for Great Barrier Island on Sunday. She will load timber and return to Gisborne. The Union Co/s Haupiri left Auckland on Saturday, and is working the coast, hading wool for transhipment to the Svar of Scotland at Wellington. She arrives here on Tuesday.
The Canterbury Shipping Co/s Petone, with 200 tons of produce, arrived from Napier on Saturday afternoon, and berthed on the tide. While berthing the Petone’s stern swung round, and, coming into contact with the projecting flagpole at the stern of the launch Tuatea, knocked it out of its socket. The Petone discharged her cargo during the night, and got away on the morning tide. The Union Co/s Wanaka arrived from Napier early yesterday morning. She discharged 140 rams and 10 tons of general cargo, and proceeded to Auckland at 11 a.m.
