It showed that the number of churches in New Zealand was 81, preaching places other than churches 70, the total number of hearers 10,485, houses 48, total cost 212.654 14s. The present value <ff churches was 254,002 12-; 6:1. and < f houses £'25.571 los 3d, musical instruments £5172 12s 6d. land not built upon £4641. Insurances on these were £58.520. The debt at present was £21,910, and the debt paid off during the year was £1057. The gross income was £8551 5s 7d, and the gro=s outgoings £,040 6s id. iNPI RITEAL WORK AND PROGRESS. Tho afternoon sitting was devoted to a discussion on the work oi God and work in the Sunday .schools. It was lesolvcd that "We rejoice in .the increase ot 118 members for the year, also in tlm immense amount of good accomplished through the ministrations of our Church, hut we have to record the sad fact that wo fail to reach the lapsed masses to any appreciable extent. AA e recommend our Church to pay more attention to week evening and Smid night prayer meetings, also open-air worli. more family religion, and the cultivation ot personal piety. AYe pledge ourselves to use everv endeavor through the coming year to tiling about a revival of God's work.” WORK AMONG THE YOUNG. It was also resolved that "\Ao express our thanks to Almighty God tor the measure of success, >pilituai. numerical and financial, that has attended our efforts during the year in connection with the young people's movement ot our Churoli. Wo are pleased to note that increases are show n in the numbers r.t Sunday School scholars and teachers, also of junior and senior Endeavor members,' and, further, that liberal response lias bean made to our financial needs, so that our working expenses aie assured, and our orphanage subscriptions increased 146 per cent. By introducing Decision Day and giving public opportunity to our scholars to snow their allegiance to Christ, we believe a groat impetus has been given to our spiritual work.”
