THE BOY SCOUTS.
THE V.M.C.A. TROOP
At the last meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Troop only 11 scouts were on parade, owing to'the heavy rain. Scoutmaster Porter, the only officer present, put the scouts through some smart work in ambulance, signalling, and various other branches of useful scout work. The scouts are becoming very efficient in this work.
At the rally on Sunday morning, at 10 a.m., Mr. Russell, of the Y.M.C.A., addressed an audience of 13 boys (a number which ought to be increased) on “Lot’s Choice,’’ giving the scouts some valuable advice. Copies of tho Rally Syllabus for the quarter (.January to ,March) were given out, and it was found that some good speakers have been obtained to address the scouts.
On Sunday afternoon, at- 2.30 p.m., another meeting of scouts was held, to try and form a Boys’ Bible Class, but only five scouts were present. Mr. Russell, leader of the class, spoke on the story of the prodigal son.
