POVERTY BAY TURF CLUB

Owners and trainers are reminded that entries for the Welter Handicap, Maiden Scurry, First County Stakes, First Hack Flat, Second Hack Flat, Roseland Handicap, Maiden Scurry Handicap, and Farewell Handicap of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s annual meeting, to bo held on the Alakaraka racecourse on Thursday and Friday, February 9 and 10, close with the secretary (Mr. D. R. De Costa), at the Club room, Alasonic Hotel, at 9.30 this evening. TE KARANA RACING CLUB. A committee meeting of the above Club was held at’ Te Karaka on Tuesday evening last. The secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. E. Dodd, submitted a statement of accounts in connection with the meeting on New Year’s Day, which showed a credit balance of £94 4s Bd. A.Tembers considered this was highly satisfactory, and that a good deal of the success was due to the efforts of the permanent secretary. Air. H E. Dodd, to whom a vote of thanks was passed. Appreciatory reference, was also made to the untiring efforts of Air. A. AL Lewis, vice-president of the einb, to make the last meeting a .success, and it was decided to minute the club’s indebtedness to Air. Lewis in this connection.
