A BLAZE AT NAPIER
[PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.'!
NAPIER,, Jan. 21
There wore all the elements of a big blaze in the centre of the town last night, a fire starting in the Plumbing Company's premises, near the City Buffet, in Emerson Street. The delay in giving the alarm at the fire .station was responsible for the 1 ite appearance- of the brigade .and the structure was a mass of flames when the water was turned on. By splendid work, however, the brigade soon got the upper hand. The workshop was spitted. The insurance on the building is £l5O in the Norwich Union office, and on the contents £l2O in the- North British office.
