A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION
L-PER. press associations WAIROA, Jan 21. The first show held under the amalgamated A. and P. Societies was held yesterday, and was highly successful. The attendance was much in excess of former years. The class of stock was highly, spoken of by the judges. Champoinsliips: Draught horses, F. Vaughan; Shorthorn Bull, Jefferson ; cow, F. Vaughan ; Hereford bull and cow, T. F. Walker; Lincolns, both to Whakaki station ; Romneys, both to Jefferson; champion hack, F. Pearson, . Gisborne, harness horse, Stewart’s Monk, 1. Air J. Hunter-Brown’s cup for most points in stock bred by exibitors went to Whakaki station. The Ruakituri settlers’ cup for most points in the horse classes was won by F. Vaughan. Mr A. L. D. Fraser’s cup for most points in cattle and sheep was won by R. E. Jefferson : cup for the best roughrhaired l fancy collie, Airs F. Vaughan won for the seventh year, and the exhibitor wins the cup right out. Aliss L. Allen, Gisborne, was very successful in the competitions. Gisborne horses secured a fair share of prizes.
