TELEGRAPHIC INTERRUPTION.
GISBORNE ISOLATED
Gisborne was suddenly and unexpectedly cut off from telegraphic communication with the rest, of the world about 5 minutes post 11 o’clock last night. At that time the wire which had hitherto worked quite satisfactorily, ceased to operate, cutting off short a message which was being received. The officers on duty remained until 2 a.m., but there was no sign of communication being restored, nor were they able to ascertain either the Cause or the location of the brea-.k Both the ordinary wire, and 1 the metallic circuit were interrupted. Nothing could be done here last night towards restoring communication, but, if necessary, steps will be taken with that object this morning. ,
