THE AORANGI AT WELLINGTON

(.PER PRESS ASSOCIATION..I WELLIN GTON, Feb. 2. The R.AI.S. Aorangi arrived to-day from San Jb'rancisco, which port she left on January llth. It was a line weather passage. The wireless installation worked satisfactorily until the steamer was a few days out, when, owing to the fusing of ihe wire, messages could only be received. Included in the cargo are 2461 cases of bananas, 101 barrels and 532 eases of mother of pearl shell, 559 cases driedl fruit, 76 cases of oils and colors, 300 bags 6f bariey. and 70 packages hops. Among the passengers by the Aorangi from San Francisco is Air. Charles F. Russell, an American journalist, who is revisiting New Zealand for the purpose of ascertaining how our labor legislation is working. Speaking to an interviewer, he made reference to the election for the Governorship of New York, at which he was a Socialist candidate. He said the result of the voting showed an enormous increase in the strength of his party. Air. J. C. Dyer, a well-known sugar expert, from California, who is on route for Victoria, was also a passenger by the Aorangi.
