HER MAJESTY’S GIFT TO HER ••ADOPTED” CHILD.
The Queen has given fresh evidence of her .great- interest in the Princess Mar-- Village Homes, Addlestone, where" her Majesty has adopted as her protegee in accordance with tlie scheme in vogue there, a little girl named Rosie Bicxham. Her Majesty receives reports as to the child’s conduct "and general progress. There arrived at the homes on Christmas Day a parcel addressed to Miss Bloxbam in her Majesty’s handwriting and containing a china tea-set. On the corner of the parcel was written, “From the Queen,” and on a card enclosed was the inscription. “Rosie Bloxham. from the Queen, Christmas. 1910." A large parcel of to-s and scrapbooks was sent to the children in the homes •‘from the Queen’s children and the children at Kew.” 'flic* Princess Mary Village Homes were founded in 1871 for the maintenance of little girls who have convict parents, who aie homeless or arc exposed to demoralising influences.
