[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) • WELLINGTON, Feb. 10.

The Government Meteorologist (Mr. D. 0. Bates) issued the following summary and forecast at 4 p.m. to-day:—Warm and hazy weather has prevailed, but rain is reported in the far north. This afternoon easterly winds have prevailed. A gale is reported at Russell, but elsewhere the winds are generally moderate to strong. The barometer has fallen everywhere. Present indications are for a railing barometer, with increasing northerly and easterly winds generally, warm and hazy weather preceding rain in most parts of the country. There are indications for a south-easterly gale in the southern districts after about thirty hours, and stormy weather generally.
