Mrs Sheppard and Mias Sic v weight have returned from Scotland, and have taken up their residence at their old home on the Wliataupoko.

Mr and'Mrs H. Stinson, (Hawke's Bay), came up .for Miss Yala Simson’s wedding.

Miss Jamieson (Hawkes Bay), is the guest o f Mrs A. H. Wallis, Kaiti.

Mrs It. Barton was in town for a few days this week, and the guest of her mother, Mrs Nolan, Kaiti.

Mr and 1 Mrs Sunderland _ (Hawke’s Bay), are the guests of Mrs It. J. Reynolds, “Sandown,” Childers Bead.

Mrs Donner assisted her daughter to entertain, and wore a beautiful robe of black satin eharmeuse, with a gold spotted net tunic, embroidered in gold. Miss Donner wore a pale pink chiffon frock with gold embroideries,, the skirt having the .hobble effect with a wide band of gold tissue. . A. dainty supper was served in the dinmng-room, and dancing was indulged in on the verandah. Among others present were: Misses Nolan (2), Sherratt (2), Lusk Rees. Bradley, Monekton, Dunlop, Barker (2), McLean, Ferguson, It. Reynolds, Bennett, D. Chrisp, and White; Messrs Dodgshun, Nolan, Monekton, Anderson" (Christchurch), .Barker (2), Fenwick, McLean, Reynolds, Black, Bennett, Gouldsmith, Donner, Murphy, Bradlev,’ G. Smith, and White.

On Wednesday last, Mrs Harry W liite gave a very large At Home, as a farewell to Mrs P. Barker, and the Misses Barker, at her residence, 'Wliataupoko. A competition to guess the name of the most novelists, was won by Miss Donner, whilst Miss It. Reynolds was second. Delicious tea and ices were served in the dining-room. One and ail had a thorough enjoyable afternoon.

Mrs P. Barker and the Misses Barker (3), left for England on Saturday, to attend the Coronation festivities, and other members of the family leave shortly.

Miss Donner gave a small, but most enjoyable dance on Tuesday evening last to a few of her young friends, at her mother’s residence, Childers Roach

The engagement is announced of Miss Kathleen Ferguson to Mr. Percival Barker.

At the Turanga. Garden Fete, which was favored with glorious .weather and a verv large attendance, I noticed Mr. and Masses Sherratt (2), Miss E.
