THE FERTILITY OF CENTRAL OTAGO. . DUNEDIN. Feb. 17.
The Hon. J. A. Millar continued his tour of Central Otago - to-day, proceeding from Clyde to Cromwell. In opening the horticultural show at Clyde, Mr Millar referred in glowing terms to the capabilities of Central Otago. He said he only wished he could have had'with him a- few North Island friends who had called Central Otago a wilderness, so as to show them what it was capable of producing. Ho was satisfied that with water the Upper Clutha and Central Otago districts could produce what the North Island could never dream of. Subsequently the Minister * received a number of deputations with reference to local matters.
