ROYAL COUPLE ESTRANGED.
SPANISH COURT SCANDAL
TOO MUCH FOR THE QUEEN
It is admitted in Madrid court circles that there has been estrangement between King Alfonso and Queen Victoria.
The scandal caused by the King’s infatuation for Mdile. Ricotti, the French dancer, has become, insupportable, and the Queen’s fixed determination is to seek refuge in England. Attempts to bring about the reconciliation of the royal couple have _ been made, of course, but so far unavailin-gly. It may be some weeks before she leaves Madrid, hut it is learned on good authority that in order to minimise the scandal as much as possible her Majesty will make some pretext for the visit. Her stay in England, of course, may be for a very long period.
