A butcher’s bill amounting to. £1303 was mentioned at the Auckland Court the other day in connection witn a petition to have an Austrian' storekeeper adjudicated a bankrupt. It was stated that a claim had been put m in the first place for £I7OO for meat supplied, but that the creditor had subsequently reduced bis* account to .EloOy. Counsel for the petitioning creditor Otr McArthur) said ho understood that £/00 had already been paid to the butohei bv the debtor, thus makings total bill of £2OOO for meat supplied during a period of about 10 months. Mr It. Gerard, who is at present investigating the affairs of the storekeeper stated that he was 1 quite satisfied that the account for £l3oo' was correct.
